Progress Doesn't Have To Come On The Scale...Right?

By - Drew Switzer

Well Today was officially the week 4 weigh-in.  I have decided to be consistent in that I will take a 10:30AM, post lunch, fully clothed (shoes included) weight as I have done the previous 2 weigh-ins (no week 3 weigh-in occurred).  I have been working out fairly regularly the past 2 weeks, and I have been trying to be conscious of portion control in my eating.  I have seen a noticeable difference when it comes to my endurance on my cardio exercises.  I have also noticed my suites fitting slightly better in the last week.  I was for sure that I would get on the scale and see 2-4 LBS knocked off my weight....NOPE!! DENIED!  220 for a third straight time.  I guess I had a few too many pieces of candy during the Halloween festivities.  I am going to say that I have gained a little muscle mass while working out and that is the reason my weight remains the same.  I will not be discouraged - yet.  These next two months are ALWAYS the two months when I gain weight.  I think if I can come in the Monday after New Years and weigh in under 220 - that would be a successful holiday season.  I will keep working out and watching what I eat.  However, I will still enjoy the Holidays.  That means eating too much on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and not passing up the cookies either.  I just need to keep at it.  Remind myself that it is a slow process and if I stay with it and get determined, then the weight will fall off - hopefully.
