The first 15 days of October added up to be the coldest first half of October Ever on record for both Topeka and Concordia. We never set any record low temperatures, but with several record lowest high temperatures set the 15 day average temperature shattered the old record.
Here is how the first half of October stacked up with other years with cold weather October 1st - October 15th.
Topeka:
1.) 2009 - 49.4 Average temp
2.) 1959 - 53.2 Average Temp
3.) 1964 - 52.4 Average Temp
4.) 1977 - 53.3 Average Temp
5.) 1952 - 53.5 Average Temp
Concordia:
1.) 2009 - 46.9 Average Temp
2.) 1891 - 52.0 Average Temp
3.) 1925 - 52.4 Average Temp
4.) 1959 - 52.6 Average Temp

Shattering a record Average temperature by 4 or 5 degrees is extremely impressive.
