The 2009 Big 12 Pre-Season media poll was released on Thursday and I was surprised by the results. 

Big 12 North: 1.) Nebraska  2.) Kansas  3.) Mizzou  4.) Colorado  5.) K-State  6.) Iowa State

If I had a vote I would have had Kansas ahead of Nebraska and K-State ahead of Colorado.  While Nebraska did beat KU last year I still think KU has a better chance of winning the Big 12 North.  In my mind the three contenders again this year will be KU, MU and Nebraska.  When you look at head to head match-ups Nebraska certainly has a tougher road.  They have to play at KU and at MU this year.  The KU-MU game is again on a neutral field in Arrowhead Stadium. 

What are your thoughts?  Would you have put KU #1?  Is it good that KU is not #1?  Would those expectations have been too much?
