My First, First Friday Art Walk.
On the First Friday of every month a great community event takes place in Topeka. Local businesses open their doors and allow local artists to showcase their work. Complementary food and beverages are provided and it is a wonderful atmosphere. Each month, more than 20 locations participate. Not only is this a great way to showcase the local talent, but if you are looking for a fun activity to do on a Friday evening, this is perfect. I went on the "walk" for the first time last Friday and had a great time. I'm not an artsy guy by any means but some of the art was really interesting and cool. I also enjoyed visiting with people and of course eating some great food and having a few drinks. I certainly plan on attending future First Friday Art Walks and I highly encourage you to do the same.
