Still Waiting on that First Snow in Topeka....Is this Normal?

The chance of snow that was in the forecast for Wednesday did not quite materialize in Topeka as the accumulating snows stayed just to our North.  So we are still looking for our first official snowfall of the season.  In order for a snowfall to go in the books, you have to record at least one inch of accumulation and it does not appear as if any systems are going to deliver that anytime soon.  It looks as if Topeka may have to wait until mid-December to pull out the shovels and sleds...So is this Normal???  Since 1971, the average first snowfall that brought at least 1 inch of snow to Topeka is December 11th.  So Yes, it is Normal to have to wait until Mid-December to see that first inch of the white stuff.  Last year we didn't receive our first inch of snow until December 6th....When will we see it this year?   Only time will tell....
