Hurricane Season is Peaking

Well as we end the Month of August and start the Month of September, hurricane season is in full swing.  We have already had two storms make landfall on the United States but luckily so far non have been major hurricanes.  Hurricane Season Peaks at the start of September and then ends by the end of October.  Even though we are still dealing with the remnants of what was Tropical Storm Fay across the SE United States, another storm, Gustav, has formed South of Cuba.  This storm looks to follow a very similar track as Fay, and will be monitored closely over the next several days.

So what are your experiences with tropical weather?  Ever been in a hurricane?  What was it like?  Ever had a vacation ruined or nearly ruined by a hurricane?  I would love to hear all your hurricane and topical weather stories.
