United Way: Giving Help a Hand

The United Way of Greater Topeka is gearing up for the 2008 campaign.  The theme this year is "Giving Help an Hand."  The 2008 campaign actually kicks off this week and runs through October.  Local businesses will be doing individual campaigns with various activities to raise money.  Companies will also be asking their employees to make a pledge to donate a certain amount of money out of each pay check to the United Way.  So why am I blogging about this?  Well this year I am a Loaned Executive from WIBW to the United Way to help with this year's campaign.  Basically I will be a liaison between local companies and the United Way of Greater Topeka, and help the companies raise as much money as they can.

All money raised for the United Way of Greater Topeka goes directly to agencies in our communities that give aid to our family, friends, and neighbors.  The United Way of Greater Topeka is ranked in the 95th percentile of United Ways nationally thanks to the generous giving of our residents.

Many local businesses participate in the campaign annually but there are still others that do not.  If your company does not participate and you would like to this year, please send me an email to drew.switzer@wibw.com and I will be glad to get a campaign going for your company.  It is very easy to do and every little bit helps.
