The Weatherman's Review of Chief's Pre-Season Game #2.

Well the second pre-season game of 2008 for the Chiefs was not as impressive as the first. There were some good moments but there were also times when I was reminded of the re-building process we are going through. The first team offense did score points on their first possession but they did not get the ball in the endzone. They settled for a field goal. The offense only scored 6 points in the first half settling for 2 field goals. The running games showed some good signs from time to time but still needs to be more consistent. On the Cardinal's first play from scrimmage they tested rookie corner Brandon Flowers and Flowers made a very impressive play, however the ball may have been slightly under-thrown. The defense held the Cardinals to 6 first half points but the second and third stringers looked very poor in the second half. The kicking controversy may have been solved as each kicker got 2 chances. Third year player Novak was 2 for 2 while rookie Barth missed his second chance. I would say the spot goes to Novak but they probably won't make that decision until the last minute. Overall I was not disgusted like I was at times last year but not as satisfied as I was after the first pre-season game. It will be a re-building year but at least the foundation is there. What are your thoughts on the Chiefs through two pre-season games?
