If you tuned into the morning show this morning then you may have heard us play the "Turn Around Don't Drown" song. This is a real song that runs about 3:00 with a couple verses and an extremely catchy chorus. The song was written to supplement the National Weather Service's Slogan: Turn Around Don't Drown. This morning with flooding in the area I decided to play it and do a little dance during a couple of the weather hits. I don't know if it was a good idea to do a little dance but the song serves a very good purpose. Flooding claims more lives each year than any other weather phenomena. It is not because floods are unpredictable, it's because people don't take them seriously and tempt the waters. This stubbornness can, and often does, result in drowning. So if you didn't hear the song...here is a link to the NWS website where you can find the song and listen. Now the next time you encounter flood waters, hopefully the lyrics will ring in your head and you will take the extra time to find and ulterior route.
