On Wednesday night I am privileged to be playing in the first annual "Celebrity Wheelchair Basketball Challenge" at Seaman High School. Game time: 7:30pm. Myself and Melissa Brunner will be teamed up with other local media members along with the Kansas Wheelhawks to play a game of wheelchair basketball. The event is a fundraiser for Kansas Accessible Sports which is a non-profit organization that promotes accessible sports, events and organizations for people with disabilities in Kansas.
The festivities actually begin at 6:30 with wheelchair races and other contests. The game starts at 7:30 and there will be games for the whole family throughout the night. A silent auction will also be taking place with items that range from a basketball signed by the 2008 National Champion Kansas Jayhawks to Country Stampede tickets and much more!
Admission is cheap, costing only $2 for kids age 6-17 and $4 for adults. Kids 5 and under are free. So come and enjoy a fun family filled evening at Seaman High and support a great cause. Melissa and I will be on the blue team so if you want to support us wear blue. Hope to see you there!
We had practice last week and it should be a blast on Wednesday night. The game is very challenging and hard on the hands, but very fun. I'm pumped.
