Everyday in life you are faced with different decisions that will change your life. Sometimes you may ask the what if question, however, there is never anyway of knowing. Sometimes in life you don't get the option to make those decisions...they are made for you. At first the card you are dealt may seem unfair and those days suck. However, this card may lead you to destinations that you could have never dreamed. So where am I going with this?
On Sunday evening, the Green Bay Packers hosted the NY Giants. The Giants kicker is Lawrence Tynes, yes the former Chiefs kicker. The Chiefs released Tynes last off season to draft a rookie kicker. They didn't think he was good enough. Well he is obviously good enough to kick for a team playing for the right to go to the Super Bowl while the Chiefs have been looking towards 2008 for a month. Now as I write this Tynes just missed a field goal that would have given the Giants a 23-20 lead so we will have to see how things work out. OK he just missed another field goal that would have won the game and sent the Giants to the Super Bowl. Maybe, getting rid of him was the best decision of Carl Peterson's life....Scratch that, it was yet another poor decision as Tynes just completely redeemed himself with a game winning, overtime field goal to send his team to the Super Bowl, and possible most important of all avoided being New York's version of Lin Elliott. Its fun to look back on your thoughts as a game progresses. So instead of sitting at home with his teammates, Tynes is going to the Super Bowl on Feb. 4th. Congratulations to him.
So how about you? Do you want to share any stories where a raw deal turned out lead you directly to great things?
