Please welcome the newest member of the 13 News Team, Chris Fisher! He joining the 13 News This Morning team.
We asked Chris to tell us a little bit about himself, and how it feels to join WIBW. Here's what he had to say:
I hate using clichés, but I have been sitting in front of a blank computer screen for the past half hour trying to come up with something unique to express how excited I am to be at WIBW, and all I can come up with is how much this is an absolute dream come true.
I’ve been a broadcaster my entire adult life, starting at KTPK radio fresh out of high school in 2000 as an intern. Aside from a short stint at KFKF-FM in Kansas City, I spent all my time on the radio at KTPK, and boy, what a ride that was. I hosted cruises, gave away cars, trucks, cash and trips, raised a bunch of money for some great local charities and got to know so many great people in this area.
My absolute favorite thing about being a member of the local media has been, and will always be the people. I have built so many wonderful relationships with listeners, and now viewers over the past several years and I hope that never ends.
I grew up just outside of Kansas City, Kansas in Basehor. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Friends University in 2005 and I love the outdoors.
Welcome Chris to the team!
