It is that time of year again...New Year's! My resolution this year is to get on a much healthier diet and stick with it. Any advice? For one, I am going to keep a log with me and actually write down what I eat everyday. I feel if it is visual, and I can actually look at what all I have had, it will be easier to eat healthier foods. That's all I have so far though. Any other thoughts on sticking with the healthy diet, especially when I'm on the go most of the time? Let me know!

Don't think of it as a diet. Look at it as a lifestyle change. Don't try to change everything at once. Start out slow and make small changes. Toss out or give away the junk in your pantry. Write down everything you eat regardless of what it is. It all counts. If you crave a certain food, have a small piece of it. If you keep denying yourself, you will cave in and eat a whole lot more. Fit in 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week. It doesn't have to be any set program or plan, just move. Find activities you enjoy doing and you'll stick it out.

If you like raw veggies, pack them in a plastic container that also might hold some 'fewer calories' dip and eat them to hold you until you can get to a real meal.
