NBA Around The Corner...

It's that time of year again...October! Which means we are mere weeks away from the start of the NBA season! NBA hoops is my favorite sport, though I'm not sure everyone in this area would agree, but it is great to watch. I can watch virtually any game, no matter who is playing.

Having said that, I am a huge New Jersey Nets fan. They're pushing for a big splash in the 2010 free agent market (Lebron, D-Wade and others are up for grabs that summer), which means right now they are in rebuilding mode. Much likes the Chiefs, there may not be a lot of wins this year, but they have talented young players and should be a scrappy, fun team to watch.

Any other NBA fans out there? Let me know your predictions for the upcoming season!

i am also looking forward to the new NBA season, especially to see if the rookies from KU have any success. i would really like to see a local team in teh NBA, a KC team or maybe wichita team would be cool.***************BQ: Wichita is too small, but I think KC (with the Sprint Center) would be a great location. OKC (5 hours) is the closes team for people in KC and in the area. I think Chalmers will play well, Arthur may surprise (but get bullied defensively), Darnell is a good end-of-bench tough guy who may also surprise, and we'll see about Brandon Rush. Should play well, but may blend in a bit too much (a.k.a. be a good teammate) to stand out this year.

Well, at least your team didn't leave Seattle and go to OKC with an owner who doesn't know how or what to do with a team. Anyway I am torn. Should I root for the team that i love but not my Sonics, or just hope and pray that Seattle gets another team. Oh well, just as long as the crybabies of San Antonio don't win the title, I will be happy. Prediction: ROY: Beasley (Miami), DPOY: Chris Paul (NO), Comeback Player of the Year: Dwayne Wade (Miami), MVP: Dwight Howard (Orlando), Finals: Portland vs. Miami. I know, crazy, but I don't get paid for this.*********BQ: Nice predictions, but Miami will be fortunate if they go .500 -- doubt they sniff the finals. MVP for me is probably Paul, but I haven't thought much about it. Maybe a future blog idea...

I would like to see Washington Wizards do a little better this year a little premature of winning it all. Miami Heat, Phoenix suns.
