It's Palin -- Your Thoughts...

I asked for your thoughts on Joe Biden -- now it is Sarah Palin's turn! She was announced as John McCain's running mate, meaning no matter which candidate is elected, history will be made.

Palin is a good speaker, she's fiesty and I have a feeling many people -- not just republicans -- will like her personality. Also, she isn't going to back down to Biden. Plus, she adds some youth to the McCain ticket.

On the other hand, McCain has been saying Obama has no experience -- then picked someone with less experience (and younger) as his second in command. Could pick up some Hillary Clinton fans, and republican women who may have otherwise considered Obama, but may also come across as a stunt -- a gimmick with little substance.

What are your thoughts on Palin? Leave a comment!

As a parent of one child, I always has seemed to be busy. I can understand why she has an unwed child. With 5 kids, was she ever home, or always at the office to get away?? So, John, you have just proved your short sighted again!!!

WHEN I LOOK AT SARAH PALIN I SEE ONE OF US. SHAME ON THE MEDIA FOR CONTINUING TO ATTACK HER DAUGHTER. I THINK SOME ARE TERRIFIED OF HER BECAUSE SHE MIGHT PUT AN END TO THE CORRUPTION IN WASHINGTON.

Hey BQ and Bri...I hope you will agree also with the inaccurate use of the term "Democrat Party" as opposed to the correct Democratic Party by many of the wingers. Watch the mess from Minneapolis and see how it is used constantly. How immature of them. Right?

As a former Democrat and now a Republican, I wasn't sure who I might vote for. I have been keeping up with both parties very closely. When I heard Sarah Palin introduced; I knew right away who I was going to vote for. She brings excitement and a fresh look to politics. I'm tired of politics as usual. I'm tired of life long politicains, and I know with out a doubt, regardless of daughter, her lack of experience, etc. I very excited about her and will vote for the Republican party.

I think it's funny how people change the spellings of the other parties ("rethugs" and "democraps"). Seems pretty immature to me.****BQ: I concur.

Typical comments from the Democraps. There was a comment on the news that said Palin was out of touch with the average mother in America. How can you say that a mother of 5 is out of touch with average mothers in America. I gaurantee Billary is the one out of touch with mothers in the U.S. Obama was smart for not picking Hillary for his running mate because she would not let him be President for very long. She would have used any means necessary to assume the office of President. All I have to say is if Barack gets elected, everyone needs to be prepared to pay the consequences. That includes the democraps.

You gotta love all these right wing fascist rethugs who claim that Palin has more "executive" experience than either Sen's Obamam and Biden. She has more than McSame too!! Maybe the rethugs should flip the ticket. As mayor she left her town 20 million in debt. Typical rethug! She has five kids. I thought rethugs like their wives barefoot, pregnant, and at home! She admmits to know nothing about the situation in Iraq and also said she has no idea what the duties of the vice-president is. Pathetic!!

Posted by: Suzy Funny you mention 3 decades in the Senate for Biden. How does that fall in line with Obama's catch phrase of "change"? Seems like more of the same old nonsense.****BQ: It's smart, when your biggest drawback is lack of experience. For McCain, the pick is riskier in my opinion, mainly due to the fact that he has been attacking Obama because of lack of experience. If McCain wins, a first term governor would be thisclose to becoming president.

This may sound petty to a lot of people out there, but being a mother of 5 children myself, I know the energy, emotionally and physically, to keep up with them. And to have the last one with Downs Syndrome, it makes me wonder if they will lose out on a lot of 'momma time' if McCain wins this election. I know she has a lot more cash flow than I did, but the time invested to raising them is still there. I really would have prefered McCain had picked an older woman with not so much family left to raise. I don't mind working moms, that is not the issue here, but just that being the vice president will take a lot more time than even being governor....***Interesting take. Give her this, she must be a multi-tasker!

Posted by: Suzy She has more Executive experience than Biden and Obama. She's the governor of a state with an 80% approval rating. She sounds like a no nonsense person who isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes is right. I'm excited about this pick... and this race!***BQ: That seems to be the catchphrase of the day: "Executive" experience. I'm curious what the response would have been had Obama selected a first-term governor for his running mate? Surely her years on a city council and as mayor do not eclipse three-plus decades in the Senate for Biden?

I believe Palin will sway enough voters away from Obama in contested states like Michigan to turn what was looking to be a close contest to a hands down McCain win. Palin has better judgment and more executive experience than Obama and Biden combined. She attacks corruption and waste; regardless of the party it stems from, and being across the straights from Russia is more verse in Russian politics than a majority of those in Washington DC and the United Nations. Beyond 2008 election, regardless of outcome, Palin will be a strong motivating voice for the conservative movement for years to come.*******BQ: I do think she will be a star for the Republican party beyond this election, regardless of the outcome.
