Richard Hatch Back In Prison

Richard Hatch the winner of the CBS Reality Show Survivor: Borneo was released from prison in May 2009 and was currently granted the ability to spend the rest of his prison term for tax evasion at his sister’s home in Rhode Island under confinement!  His 51 month sentence was in January 2006 for being found guilty of not paying the taxes on the $1 Million he won from becoming “Sole Survior.”

He had granted two TV interviews Monday August 17, 2009 without the required permission from the federal Bureau of Prisons. Hatch had approval to appear on the NBC “Today Show,” but did not for the interviews he did for NBC Affiliate WJAR-TV and the NBC-owned “Access Hollywood.”

During the interviews he accused the prosecutor of misconduct and the judge of discrimination against him because he was gay.  In addition, he commented that due to being locked up he was “flat broke!”

Supposedly Hatch believed he had permission to be on any NBC media outlet. However, the real agreement was only for Hatch to appear on the “Today Show” not the other two. All interviews were done on in his sister’s home where he was under confinement but was picked up by a Sheriff’s deputy already on Tuesday August 18th in the afternoon.

Hatch is being held at the Barnstable County jail in Massachusett.

His term is scheduled to end Oct 7, 2009!

The funniest part is I watched his interview on the "Today Show" thinking did he learn his lesson?  Nope!  Sound's like Hatch won't be paying his back taxes anytime soon!
