Here is a link to the story from Fox News. In summation, a girl was put on probation from the popular Restaurant chain Hooters for gaining what they deemed to be too much weight. There is a Hooters here in Topeka that I have never been to, but I have been to others. I am really interested to see what you all think about this.

On one hand, I do not think this woman is fat at all, and I think she looks good in fact, but isn't is Hooters' right to pick and choose who they want to hire. I mean is it just me, or is the restaurant built on hot waitresses. This is not mean to demean or insult, but any woman weighing 200 lbs. is not going to get hired there. That is a fact. I do not make that rule, but we all generally know it's true. So, if Hooters thinks this particular girl does not fit what they are going for, is it their right to put her on probation?

Again, I am not sure what to think here. I always wondered how Hooters gets away with it in the first place. Let's say there was another restaurant that only hired white wait staff, or only black wait staff, would that not be racism? So is this not the worst type of sexism? I find this to be fascinating. Discuss.
