Conan The New King of Late-Night?

As Conan takes over the Tonight Show, it raises the question, will he become the new King of Late Night, inheriting the crown from Jay Leno, who has handily beat David Letterman over the past few years. In the past Letterman has been labeled the younger, hipper of the two, while Leno was known for grabbing an elderly demographic, which boosted his ratings.

As a younger viewer, there is no way Conan will lose the younger viewership to Letterman. If anything, the older viewers may move over to Letterman. Over 60% of people on a WIBW poll said they would watch Letterman, rather than Conan or Jimmy Kimmel.

I have read mixed reviews on Conan's first two nights. Loyal fans say he is holding back, and has not been as wild as he was on late-late night. I think he has maintained his zany demeanor, and will just continue to grow as he grows comfortable in the new role.

What do you think? Will you be watching Conan as you fall asleep, or something else?
