Michigan St. the perfect Measuring Stick For KU

A rematch with Michigan St. in the Sweet 16 is a perfect measuring stick for KU. If you recall, the last time these two teams mets, few were high on KU, including their coach. At that point, as I recall, there were some questions as to if KU would win the Big 12, make the tournament and advance as far as it has.

Now, they look unstoppable, with Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich playing as well as any two players in the entire field. The road to a final four is never easy, but now KU is forced to play Michigan St. which won the Big 10 regular season title. KU was run out of the gym in the second half of their first game, so it will be interesting to see if they have improved as much as it seems they have.

Another intriguing footnote is coaching. Tom Izzo and Bill Self each have a national championship. And when teams meet for a second time, coaching certainly plays a role.

Let me know your thoughts? Do you like seeing the Spartans for a second time? Do you think KU has improved enough to beat them this time around? I really wish I had an answer, but I don't which is why this is not only a fun game here, but perhaps the most looked forward to game nationally as well.
