My Black Friday Story
It is about that time of year, so I have decided to share my 'Black Friday' story with you. For those that do not know Black Friday it the day after Thanksgiving that signals the first shopping day of the Christmas season, where retail stores slash prices and people stand in line for hours to get the deals.
I was living in Wisconsin at the time, and had my eyes set on this great 42" Plasma TV, that was $400 cheaper on this one day only.
At the time I was working later hours, so when I got off of work at 1 a.m., I grabbed a chair, a 64 oz. cup of coffee and a blanket and marched right over to the local Best Buy to get in line.
The problem was in Wisconsin during the month of November the temperatures are in the teens at this time of night. It was ridiculous, but I was far from the only one there. In fact, there were hundreds of people in line! I could not convince any of my friends to go with me, shocker, so I was there alone in a ball waiting in out.
Five hours later, I hit pay dirt. The TV was mine, that is, after I went into the store and dodged all the crazy people with carts running around. Getting through that store was tougher than gaining 100 yards on the ground in an NFL game.
In the end, I guess it was worth it. But for those of you who will be out there this year, have fun because you won't see me there!
