This month, Charlene Patton has been joining us on 13 News This Morning and Midday in Kansas to share some fun recipes that you can have your kids do with you. It'll give them an activity (30 minutes without hearing, "I'm boooored.") and they may learn something!
Here is Charlene's recipe for Easy Chocolate Fudge Sauce and Glazed Soynuts for her Chocolate Fudge Sundaes.
EASY CHOCOLATE FUDGE SAUCE
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup vanilla soy milk
¼ cup sugar
1 tablespoon margarine
1. Combine chocolate chips, vanilla soy milk, sugar and margarine in microwave safe bowl.
2. Microwave on high for 60 seconds; stir.
3. Heat and stir at additional 30 seconds intervals just until mixture is thoroughly combined and smooth.
Makes 1 cup.
GLAZED SOYNUTS
½ cup plain salted soynuts
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons water
Combine soynuts, sugar and water in medium skillet. Heat over medium heat stirring as mixture caramelizes for about 5 minutes; remove from heat to cool; break cooled mixture into pieces.
