Breastfeeding a 3 year old? On the cover of a magazine? Discuss.

by Amanda Lanum

The new cover of Time Magazine has caught national attention. Not surprising considering the cover photo is a woman, breast exposed, her three year old son "attached." The story is about something called "attachment parenting." The trend includes co-sleeping, "baby wearing" (think parent slings), and -as illustrated by the cover photo- extended breast-feeding.

Are you a parent who practices "attachment parenting?" As we take time to honor mothers this weekend, do you wish you would have had this experience growing up? I'm not sure how I would've turned out different, if at all, if my parents had brought me up this way. What kind of difference do you think it makes in a child's life and in the parent/child relationship?

USAToday.com has an article about the magazine cover. You can read it here: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2012/05/time-cover-breast-feed-three-year-old-attachment-parenting/1?csp=hf#.T60EWKN5mSM
