It's become a tradition that at the beginning of December, ladies in my family head to Kansas City for a day of Christmas shopping and merriment.
This year, my mom took my sister, Kim, and I. We started at the Legends (where I bought two things for myself... not the point of the trip); then went to Crown Center for shopping and what was supposed to be our first ice skating adventure. An unfortunate rollerblade fall a few months back left my sister too scared to lace up the ice skates so we passed on that one. Then we headed to the Plaza to see the lights from a horse-drawn carriage. All-in-all, a great day. :) And as for getting my Christmas shopping done? The final count was 5 things for me, 1 Christmas present bought for someone on my list.
Here are some pictures from our day of Christmas cheer!

Outside of Crown Center, near the skating rink, there are so many things to entertain the kids. We enjoyed climbing on all the big toys, too!
Kim showing my mom just how much she didn't want to ice skate. Mom lost the battle.
Before we got in the carriage, we wanted to get to know our horse, Andy. Except Kim. She's also afraid of horses. She sure came out of this trip looking like a big chicken, huh?
