Christmas Decorations - Why Wait?

In the past, it has been a tradition that on Thanksgiving (which we spent at my grandparents' in Holton) we would help my grandma put up and decorate the Christmas tree after dinner. Even after we changed Thanksgiving dinner locations, the tradition to decorate for Christmas on Thanksgiving day stuck with me.

Last night at the dinner table with my family in Meriden, my mom said she needs a break between her holidays. She doesn't want to decorate for two more weeks!

My sister and I cried foul. Christmas decorations are a huge part of keeping the Christmas spirit alive 24/7. They're a reminder of the season (which, of course, I know is not about gifts, but about Jesus Christ. Happy B-Day, Jesus!). Why only have that feeling for two weeks when you can have it for four?

So, I'll be decorating on Sunday. Mom's gonna wait. When do you decorate for Christmas, or whatever holiday you may celebrate? And if you don't decorate at all I definitely want to hear why!
