If you haven't heard of the book Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, by now you have surely seen previews for the movie version coming out this Friday. Last week the Twilight soundtrack went to Number 1 on the Billboard chart.
I, like most of the ladies in the newsroom (plus one Ralph Hipp) tore through all four books in the series in no time. They are so good! The best part is that each one seems to be better than the last.
So yesterday on the CBS Evening News I hear Katie Couric say something about "a vampire movie that has caused a craze among teen girls" and knew immediately the story was about Twilight. Yes, Lindsay Shively, our producer Traci Badalucco and myself plan to see this movie with all those "crazy" teenage girls this weekend. And I am not ashamed. The guys around the newsroom like to make fun (ahem, Dave Johnson).
We are making a night of it and doing dinner afterward so that, as Traci put it, we can discuss.
I haven't even seen the first, but already I can't wait for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th movies!
