How aggravating to come home and find out from a neighbor that the reason your bedroom clock is flashing 12:00..12:00..12:00 and the reason your VCR clock is doing the same is because a renegade squirrel found its way into the transformer box outside blowing the power. At the same time your favorite TV show didn't get recorded because the VCR lost power, meaning you have to auto program the TV channels again, and hope that one of your friend's had his VCR recording, and his neighborhood squirrels didn't suffer the same fate as the poor squirrel in your neighborhood, who messed with electricity, didn't win, and has now put you a week behind in your favorite TV show. Now I know your thinking "Come on you're really whining about missing your weekly TV show". Well I mean I guess...I'm really using it as an example, but nobody wants to miss their favorite TV show right?
Well those were the old days A couple years ago I got DVR (digital video recorder) Tivo would be an example. I'm sure most of you know what they are, but if you don't it allows you to record shows to the hard drive, or disk drive inside the recorder; multiple shows at the same time in fact. You also have many options: Do you want to record the reruns, how often do you want it to record, what shows have priority over other shows. Let me tell you, for someone who works crazy hours most of the time it's nice to know that certain TV shows, or Playoff Basketball games will be there when you get home. Honestly DVR is pretty much awesome. If you don't have one I would recommend getting it. It's so easy to go into the guide menu and just hit record, or set it to record once and let it be. My parents record stuff a lot and I kept telling them they should get a DVR at their house. Finally they did and let me tell you they love it, my dad especially who has watched both the Orange Bowl and the KU-Memphis game at least 20 times a piece. Just kidding Dad...(but seriously people he does..30 times at leastprobably) DVR...it's a life changer when it comes to television.
Do you have DVR capabilities?
