"Have you seen Davidson?" "What about that Davidson game?" "Davidson totally ruined my bracket!" "Who even had Davidson winning a game." "Nobody could have picked Davidson to do what they've done."
Think again! And before you talk up Davidson as this years Cinderella of the tournament, think of those Jordan commercials that have been running during the tournament. (that I love so much) They are absolutely right. "There are no Cinderellas." Every statement In quotes written above are comments I have actually heard over the past few days. Like it or not, believe it or not, Davidson is no Cinderella, they're a flat out good team. As I write this the Kansas Jayhawks are taking the floor following Davidson's dominance of Wisconsin. Wisconsin...who's no slouch...Wisconsin who won the Big 10. And lets not forget the rest of their run through the tournament thus far. They take out Gonzaga in the first round no surprise, but then dropping Roy Hibbert and Georgetown. they may be a #10 seed but they definitely have played better than that all season.
Folks they've been ranked nationally most of the year. They have one of the best shooting guards in the country in Stephen Curry. They went 20-0 in conference play. They went into the tournament with only 6-losses on the season...three of which came against North Carolina, UCLA, and Duke. This team is no joke. This team can flat out game. Losing to UNC by 4, UCLA by 12, and Duke by 6. I mean seriously I don't understand why they weren't ranked higher nationally most of the year. Actually I do, they play in the Southern Conference so during the season there is no way they would win the national recognition that they should. Davidson is no Cinderella, they just flat out ball.
The slipper doesn't fit Davidson. The title winners does.
