Somebody Keeps Stealing My Pens!!!

Somebody keeps stealing my pens! When I first started work back at channel 13 one thing I quickly noticed was that I could never find a pen to write with. Someone would call with a score or something else and I had to find something to write with, but never could. When I first started working here no reporter had pens or any type of writing item on their desk. I have been here for 2 and a half years now and we have several new reporters. Many have followed the idea of not keeping any pens on their desk. In fact of the 17 desks in the Newsroom the only people with any writing utensils on their desk are as follows: Lindsay Shively- A metal bucket full of pens and pencils, Stephanie Ramos- A large cup full of pens, markers, and highlighters, Rae Chelle Davis- also a large cup of pens, markers, and highlighters, and Brian Quick- 3 pens just sitting by his keyboard; Thats it. Here's the point....Somebody keeps stealing my pens and I realize now that the reason nobody keeps pens on their desk  is they always get stolen. I understand that now. I always carry two pens on my person and try to have as many as I can in the Kansas Sports cup I have on my desk. Lately though my pens have been stolen over and over again. I'm about to do a crime stoppers story just about my pens. It's so annoying everyday I get into work and the pens are gone. I have a large stash of pens so I refill the cup, but I mean really should I have to do that. At one point about 4 months ago I put a sign on my cup of pens that read "Adam's Pens If you Use return." Of course all I got was an empty cup of pens over the next few days, and someone writing something funny on my sign. Often I find my pens on others desk's I of course reclaim them as my own and the user always says they just found it somewhere...Right you just found it...Everyone is always just finding them. Leave my pens alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for a science project we are doing a thing on pen pinches to hellp you problem of pens getting stolen. we are testing it on a intermediate school to see if marking your pens hepls it stop getting stolen. we buy over 300 a year becuz we get so meny stolen and we get in troble if we dont have the things we need for school. we are sick of it to. so far our result is that it dosnt matter if you mark it but we are going to find a way to stop it. we hate getting them stolen

i think it past time that your reporters lay off the Roy Williams bashing. Most of tem do not remember the 15 great years he gave us and KU enough is enough

Funny that the ranting post, having nothing to do with sports or news of any sort, is the one that garners the most reply posts... curious.

If I return your pens will you send Drew down here to meet me?

We keep running away from your desk because you don't pay us enough for the work you do with us so just start using our pals the pencils!!!

I used to have this guy that I worked with, that would always pick up my pen and then walk off with it. Drove me crazy! He wouldn't purposely do it, but it still happened. I finally just bought us personalized pens. They are pretty affordable. Check walmart! Then at the end of the day or week we would sort out pens and they always got back to the right place. You should try investing in some!!!

Posted by: mae have you ever stopped to think that just maybe the pens don't want to be on your desk? i suggest a serious heart to heart with your pens.

LOL! Nice

You can always do what a lot of people do. Tape plastic spoons or forks on them and then no one will take them for fear of looking like a fool writing with a spoon or fork. Just a thought!!!!

I stole/kidnapped your pens. You can have them back for the ransom of a good cup of coffee.

I get all the vendor pens I can and leave them around my work area. So I don't have to worry about it. Maybe you need to that or better yet put a keep your hands off sign. It is soooooo bad for people to take things off of your desk or move things around. I have everyone trained at my office to leave my desk alone. Why can't you do that?

How do you really feel Adam?!? lol. You'd think you'd learn and put them in your desk like everyone else... but if all else fails, just steal one from someone else's desk. haha.. j/k. I NEVER do that!! ;) (k, so if I do, I DO put them back.. usually)

I suggest you write your name on labels or pieces of paper and tape them to your pens.

Posted by: Suzy Get some Hello Kitty pens with floppy toppers on them. I'm sure the guys will quit snitching them off your desk. ;o)

Posted by: RS At my work, we have a supply room that is well stocked with office supplies. It is only open weekdays 8-5. I work shift work, so I keep a supply in either my file cabinet or in my locker. I made the mistake of telling some of the other employees I keep pens, markers etc on hand, so now they help themselves to it rather than walking over to the main office and getting their own. They also are known for taking the last item without taking the time to restock. Most are so lazy and dependent on others to do the simplest tasks, they will go without rather than putting forth any effort. I bet they vote Democrat too. :)

Posted by: SS maybe you should put a cup beside the pen cup for donations for pens lol
