Topeka, KANSAS (WIBW) -- The economic recession has been felt by everyone in some way, perhaps none more so than the Topeka Rescue Mission. The Mission can comfortably hold a maximum of about 200 people per night, but this summer it has seen nights of between 230 and 255 people per night.
All of the beds have been full, leaving many people sleeping on cots on the floor. The Mission counts of the time, money and donations of Topekans. The meals it serves costs an average of three dollars, but they only pay an average of seven cents because of donations.
Executive Director Barry Feaker says the Mission is looking into opening another location at some point in the future. But it could be a long process to get there.

What can the public do...Other then give money at this point? Does the mission need used clothing or bedding?

Dreaming of going back to work. Just kidding…I’m a big fan of music, sports and spending time with friends and family…and of writing clichéd answers to favorite activity questions. And being sarcastic.
