Fourth of July is just a few weeks away...so how about teeing off before you kick back to watch the fireworks?

13's Lindsay Shively works on her swing and shows us how to make sure your Fourth of July is up to par.

Beautiful Lake Shawnee sets the stage for the Spirit of Kansas Fourth of July celebration, and for the Lake Shawnee Golf Course...the location of the Customer Appreciation Golf Tournament.

"Everybody got together and said we need to get together and do this for the Spirit of Kansas and then its topped off by the huge fireworks on the other side."

"For thirty dollars, you get greens fees, golf carts, prizes, bbq, drinks, it's just an absolute ball." It sounded like a good deal so i asked for some golf pointers.

And the format of the tournament sounded perfect for the expert golfers...and for those of us who aren't quite experts just yet.

"Four-person scramble is when you have a team, all four hit the ball...you pick your favorite and then you move there and continue until it's holed out. it's better for the not-so-serious golfer because you have some partners to pick you up when you're down and that's what it's all about, its a fun event."

"So if this sounds like a fun way to spend your Fourth of July, come on out for the Spirit of Kansas Golf Tournament at the Lake Shawnee Golf Course."
