In Signature ROTR fashion, 2011 Kicked off with a dynamic opening night from Red Line Chemistry's electric set that sent the sunlight into the horizon to Steel Panther reviving the 80s for one more year, Rock on the Range 2011 announced its presence boldly.

Weekend goers were delighted with a strong opening night or "pre-party" (however, for many the party was already launched) for this year. As clouded minds headed for hotels, campsites and homes, Columbus Crew stadium was about to be electrified in less than 12 hours.

Huge crowds packed the surrounding stages to see up and coming acts Black Veil Brides, A Day to Remember, Asking Alexandria while waiting for mainstays Disturbed, Korn, and Avenged Sevenfold. A diversified lineup seemed to effectively bring out a Rock Radio crowd as well as attract some of the Vans Warped Tour style audience as well. Regardless of your preference there were many iconic memories to be had. From Pop Evil?s crowd walking -- to watching a wheel-chaired individual crowd surfing you never knew what you were going to see from set to set. As the crowds got wilder the artists pushed harder.

With perfect weather and the scheduled bands being on time, the crowd enjoyed a very smooth concert weekend. Many fans relished the opportunity to meet their various rock heros in person at the numerous autograph signings that took place each day. Kudos to ROTR for including Meet N Greets for the fans over the course of the weekend.

As years past, the 3 days flew by far quicker than the agonizing days waiting for the show to finally come and as the lights on the stadium faded, all that remained was a faint sound of "R-O-T-R. R-O-T-R" from a small group of fans making their final exit. Like the thousands before them, it wasn't their first time, it won't be their last, they just have another 363 days to recall the past.
