Washburn Rural High School senior Joe White fought for his life after being seriously injured in an accident back in 2006, an injury that nearly took his life.

It was homecoming night, Joe was a senior then, he was filming a stunt with friends and jumped out of a moving car resulting in serious brain injuries and paralysis on the right side of his body. But the main message he wants to pass along to everyone is that you should never give up.

"He's been doing biofeedback therapy with his arms and legs that's really been helping alot. Even though he has paralysis on the right side he is developing some of the skills that he had previous to the accident the other day he punched me with his right arm. A good sign," says his stepmother, Kristin White. "Our main goal throughout all of this has been to try and prevent other families from going through something similar so everytime we see parents we tell them about Joe. Tell your kids to be safe in whatever they do."

Joe will be able to continue to take classes at Washburn Rural High School until he's 21 years old but right now he's not sure if he will. He hopes to in the future speak to kids about how important it is to think twice before making a life changing decision.
