One woman was sent to the hospital after a small plane crash just south of Billard Airport.

It happened around 1:30 this afternoon when according to Topeka firefighters the plane stalled shortly after takeoff.

The pilot tried to land in a nearby plow field, but the plane ended up landing nose first.

A woman in her mid-sixties was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and a man in his mid-fifties refused treatment at the scene.

There are no severe injuries. The FAA has taken over the investigation to find an exact cause of the crash.
