In Reno County, a task force has been formed to investigate whether an elderly murder is connected to cases in which older women have been sexually assaulted.

85-year-old Pearl Arthaud was found dead in her room at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler.

There were two elderly assaults in Hutchinson in March and April. The only suspect description is that of a white male. Police have released few details as they continue their investigation.

You know how hard it is to live to 85? You have to struggle and you probably die a thousand times every time your ticker acts up or you add another physical failure or heart flutter but you trudge on and put a smile on your face and you're happy you made it to 85 and you just hope for a few more days or maybe even weeks to see your great greats, and then some totally worthless piece of shit comes in and tortures you to death in probably 30 minutes. After 85 years of striving to live, in 30 minutes something not worth spitting on takes it all away from you. You might say I'm perplexed. Two previous recent breakins. And yet she had to continue to live alone? It seems that we let our elderly down again by not taking those breakins more seriously.
