The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office identified a boy killed in a weekend go kart accident as 15-year old Robert Koch.

It happened in the 2500 block of NE 31st Stree. The Sheriff's Office says Koch was riding with a nine-year old passenger around 3:30 Saturday afternoon. The go kart rolled several times, killing Robert. The nine year old wasn't hurt.

The Sheriff's office says both of them were wearing seatbelts and the go cart had a roll cage.

Im the older sister of the 9 yr old. This type of atv is made to keep you safe for if it happens to roll; helmet or not. Robert had his safety harness on as did my brother. Unfortunately Robert's broke at some point on one of the impacts. This is a fault by the manufacturer. Hopefully they can have these recalled before anyone else gets hurt. Dont judge the parents or anyone else in this situation please. Maybe you should read Cheyenne's story if your wanting to blame a parent for the death of a child.
