TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A woman was taken to a local hospital Tuesday after crashing her car into a house.
It happened just after 10:30 am Tuesday.
The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office says the driver was eastbound on SE 29th approaching Croco Road when she lost control, sideswiped an AT&T service van that was stopped at the light, crossed the intersection and left the road. Authorities say the vehicle then hit a utility pole support cable, crashed through a privacy fence and ran into a home in the 2800 block of Lakeridge Court.
No one was home at the residence and two people who were in the van were not injured.
The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
