TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Separate incidents brought Topeka Police and Westar to a shopping center along Wanamaker Road Tuesday morning.

Police were called to Office Depot near SW 21st and Wanamaker, where employees reported vandals put glue in a door lock. Police say the store also reported stolen drainage cover grates and also a cut power line to their compactor.

Around the same time, Westar crews were working to restore power to neighboring businesses. They say the outage was due to the failure of a piece of equipment called a terminator.

The City of Topeka says the two calls were not connected. Power was restored by 10 am.
