(WIBW) - Kansans on low incomes have some extra help in paying their power bills this summer, thanks to them taking a "leap."
The Low Income Energy Assistance Program, operated by the Department for Children and Families, offers assistance with utility bills for people with lower incomes. To qualify, people must earn less than 130 percent of poverty level.
This year, the agency received additional money to provide assistance during the summer months. The help was for those already in the program. The next sign-up period is in December.
Jamie Rogers appeared on 13 News at 4 to discuss the program.
