USD 501 Schedules Listening Tours To Discuss $90 Million Bond Issue

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - USD 501 is hosting listening tours over the next six weeks to discuss a bond issue that could close three schools.

Ron Harbaugh told 13 News the tours will allow residents to give input on topics such as school safety, technology trends, facility plans, and the $90 million bond issue.

The bond issue includes possibly replacing Avondale West and Shaner with a new elementary school near Jardine Middle School. Capital City would also be replaced with a career learning center for high school students to work on projects and internships.

The meetings will be held September 9th through October 14th. A complete list of tour dates, time and locations:
