From the Topeka Police Department

The United States Honor Flag will be flown to Kansas City late Friday afternoon to be brought to Topeka for the funerals of our two fallen officers.

Two officers will arrive at the KCI airport at approximately 6:50 p.m. to retrieve the flag. The officers will return to Topeka by 8:00 p.m. so the flag can be present at the end of the public viewing at the Expocentre. A Topeka Police Department officer will carry the flag Saturday during the ceremonies. Per protocol, the flag will lead the procession and the caskets anytime they are moved. The officer will present the ceremonial gloves that he is required to wear to the family of our fallen officers at the ceremony after the casket flags are presented.
