TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Shawnee County Commissioners voted Monday to accept the resignation of Shawnee County Treasurer Larry Wilson.

He will resign on Jan. 3, as part of a deal that pays him $30,000.

Wilson made a brief comment to commissioners and then left the commission meeting Monday morning.

Wilson has been scrutinized repeatedly by commissioners and Shawnee County residents complaining of long lines at tag renewal locations in Topeka. He was most recently questioned about phone calls from the public not being returned by his office.
