Topeka Touts Historic Preservation Fund Grant Program

CITY HALL -- The City of Topeka is seeking qualified applications for its Historic Site for Heritage Tourism Grant Program, which pays up to 80% of project costs to restore or make significant repairs to historic buildings.

Eligible properties must be:
Registered on the Kansas or National Registers of Historic Places, or
A locally designated or a National Historic Landmark, or
Recognized through the National Underground Railroad “Network to Freedom” Program, and
Open to the public for a period of 10 years upon completion of the grant project.

Grant applications must be submitted by 4:00pm, Thursday, February 24, 2011, to the Topeka Planning Department, 620 SE Madison, located on the 3rd Floor. Awards will be announced on Monday, May 2nd.
