TOPEKA ZOO -- The Topeka Zoos Summer Adventure Camps are FULL DAY this year running 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is geared for children ages 6 - 12 years of age. With a new, fun, and interesting theme each week, there will never be a dull moment exploring the animal kingdom through stories, games, interactive play, live animal encounters, and much more! Survivor Adventure Week - June 3 - 7
If you were dropped into the middle of the wilderness, could you survive? At survivor adventure camp, your children will learn basic survival skills in exciting, hands-on ways, while learning about animals they may encounter in the wild. Campers will also learn about the true experts at surviving in the wilderness, the first Americans present in our area, while exploring their amazing survival expertise.
Birds Of A Feather - June 10 - 14
Birds of a feather flock together, or do they? Why do birds sing? Do birds dance? What bird builds the biggest nest? Campers will discover the answers to these questions and many more as they meet birds from all over the world. From birds that live in tropical rainforests to birds of prey and birds that live in their own backyards, campers will experience the fascinating world of bird exploration!
Animal Wonders - June 17 - 21
The animal kingdom is full of wonders. Some creatures can migrate tens of thousands of miles, some can shoot boiling liquid, and others can lift 200 times their own body weight! From migration, to pollination, to locomotion, learn more about the great diversity of our incredible animal world as we explore the mysterious animal wonders of our planet.
Myth Busters - June 24 - 28
Are bats really blind? Can porcupines really shoot their quills? What makes a volcano explode? Find out as we debunk myths and dive into science to meet some of the most interesting and misunderstood creatures in the animal kingdom.
Earth, Wind, and Water - July 8 - 12
As far as we know, the Earth is the only place in the universe that can sustain life as we know it, and the diversity of life on earth is truly incredible. This week, campers will explore the ingredients that make life possible while discovering the many types of ecosystems made possible by those ingredients and the animals that call them home. Be ready to get dirty, damp and windblown!
Journey To The Jungle - July 15 - 19
Grab a vine and swing around the world in search of rainforests during our journey to the jungle! We will learn about the plants and animals that call this lush forest home, as well as why it is the most diverse ecosystem on the planet.
