TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)-- A very special send-off helped get local athletes fired up to compete in this year's Special Olympic Summer Games.

The Topeka High Drum Line provided the energy for the crowd early this morning at TARC.

Also on hand to wish good luck upon the athletes were players from the Kansas Koyotes, Topeka Golden Giants and even Chester Cheeta from Frito Lay.

Special Olympians representing Topeka and Shawnee County will compete in the 2014 Special Olympic Games.

The festivities are held in Wichita and will run through Sunday.
