TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Teachers who more than make the grade earned honors.
The Topeka North Rotary Club held its 10th annual Educator Appreciation and Scholarship Luncheon Wednesday. Eleven educators from the Seaman School District were recognized for their efforts above and beyond the classroom.
The group also honored its scholarship winners. Senior Carleigh Konrade earned the award given in honor of Stan and Jody Teeter, while Matthew Cloud earned the Ray Gutierrez scholarship. Both earn them $750 toward their education.
13's Melissa Brunner was guest speaker for the event, sharing memories of teachers who influenced her to thank the teachers for how they influence their students' lives.
The event was held at Northland Christian Church.
