TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- United Way volunteers kicked-off there annual campaign event with a early breakfast in Agriculture Hall at the Kansas Expo Centre.
The Nancy Perry Day of Caring organizers were in full force today in support of the community based volunteer event.
The Perry Day of Caring serves as the traditional kick-off for the United Way of Greater Topeka's Annual Campaign.
Volunteers will tackle 70 community projects for 41 community organizations during today's event. One of those community projects volunteers were tackling was the beautification of Scott Magnet School in southeast Topeka.
Volunteers spread mulch, planted flowers and spruced up the outside of the school.
800 volunteers participated in the Nancy Perry Day of Caring across the community.
