SILVER LAKE, Kan. (WIBW) - Shawnee County students received some valuable safety lessons.
The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office and the Silver Lake Police Department sponsored a safe driving event Thursday at Silver Lake High School. Rossville students also made the trip for the lesson.
The event is designed to raise awareness of safe driving practices, from stopping at railroad crossings to seat belt usage.
The American Trucking Association road team showed off their truck simulator. The Kansas Highway Patrol and Operation Lifesaver were on hand as well.
