MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - The Department of Homeland Security has taken a step toward construction of the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility in Manhattan.
The Kansas Federal Congressional Delegation and Governor Sam Brownback announced Friday that the DHS awarded the contract for construction of the central utilities plant.
It will be a free-standing 87,000 square foot building on the NBAF site on the Kansas State University campus.
Construction of the central utilities plant is expected to be completed in two and a half years.
