Shawnee County Gets Over 700 For Group Workout At Yager Stadium
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-Despite a recent national report that estimated 62% of Kansans will be obese by 2030.
Over 700 Shawnee County residents are joining in a group workout at Moore Bowl at Yager Stadium Wednesday evening for the Third Annual Shawnee County's Largest Workout.
The event included a health fair featuring local organizations, an organized walk, and the group workout which took place at 6:30 PM. It was conducted in partnership with the YMCA, Shawnee County Health Agency, Pepsi, and Heartland Healthy Neighborhoods.
Organizers see it as a positive trend towards fitness happening in Shawnee County and organizers are hoping the trend can spread it's momentum through Kansas and perhaps on the other side of the nation's health spectrum.
