TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Shawnee County Commissioners gave the approval for a new concert stage for the Kansas Expocentre.
The new stage will cost over $99,000 and will be paid with the capital expenditures fund.
Expocentre General Manager H.R. Cook says the 27 year old stage has become cumbersome and heavy.
He says the new stage will be lightweight and only needs two people to set up in approximately two hours.
cook says he does believe the old stage has some life left and told commissioners he wants to sale it to a church or a school.
